I did the painting below while trying to paint a portrait. The still life was set up on the other side of the room. As the model took her breaks, I just couldn't resist trying to capture this beautiful little vase and the light falling on the blossoms, so I had two paintings on my easel at the same time. Probably not a great idea especially because I was struggling with the portrait…but I really liked the way this little 8x10 came out. Its amazing how one can agonize over a painting for days and it just not work - then sometimes it just feels right and everything just falls into place. I am glad someone feels the same way about this piece.
